What is a Brazilian butt lift?
It is often requested by women who are aging and getting what they call butt-droop so that is why I’m writing about it. You ask, I write!
The buttocks area naturally tends to show signs of aging though just plain gravity. Over the years, it can begin to droop-or do we say drop. Women AND men want to look their youngest and best with this being a surprisingly highly requested plastic surgery procedure.
The procedure is a safe form of plastic surgery that has the potential benefit of using one’s own fatty tissue for “plumping.”
Lifts can be done with implants rather than fat but there is a 60%+ rejection rate with implants so this article will focus on the different types of fat transfer methods. Because the donor cells come from the patient’s own body, fat injection enhancement carries no risk of the body rejecting the implanted cells.
Advantages from a lift with fat transfer:
The Brazilian Butt lift with autologous (self-derived) fat transfer will produce natural-looking results. In addition, chances of rejection are nil. Why? Because the Autologous Brazilian Butt Lift harvests fat via liposuction of fat from the person receiving the lift. The person then receives the added benefit of an improved body contour in the areas targeted for fat cell harvesting.
Minimal scarring and discomfort are also other advantages of this procedure.
Complications are reduced as well. With implants, there are much higher risks for infection; wound rupturing along the suture areas, or implant exposure.
Other added benefits to having a Brazilian Butt Lift include:
The buttocks will appear more shapely and round. This will make the waist and thighs appear smaller. It brings the upper torso into a more pleasing proportion. It conveys a more youthful appearance. Attractiveness, self-confidence and the feeling of increased sex appeal are other benefits of the Brazilian Butt Lift.
The augmentation procedure:
The Brazilian butt augmentation is an outpatient procedure which can be done under general or local anesthesia. The procedure usually takes about one and a half to two hours depending on the patient and amount of work that needs to be done. Factors such as the amount of fat being removed, and patient’s desired size and shape will alter the surgery time.
Fat is removed from different areas of the body such as the thighs, abdomen, back, or hip through liposuction and is then cleansed and purified. Once the highest qualities of fat cells have been separated, they are used to inject into the buttocks.
Narrow incisions are made into the buttocks area to serve as the entry point for fat transfer.
The Plastic Surgeon will use these portals to then inject the fat at various depths- adding volume and shape.
The fat contains stem cells which have the ability to turn into new tissue creating new collagen to also improve skin texture and thickness. This will help the skin look much smoother and make the buttocks look nice and firm. Incisions made during this procedure are very small and will barely be noticeable with time.
4 Types of Brazilian Lifts techniques:
Miami Thong Lift:
By making an incision down your center buttock crack, and liposuctioning the fullness that exists, the resulting scar remains largely hidden in the natural crevasse.
The length of the scar depends on the fullness of the inner fold of the gluteus maximus muscles.
The Butterfly Lift:
The Butterfly Lift procedure results a more extensive scarring, which can be hidden along the top of the bikini line. This is needed when there is a lot of excess skin that needs to be removed and lifted. The length of the scar and its extension towards the front will depend on how much work needs to be done.
The Inner and Posterior Leg Lift:
This occurs in people who have lost a great amount weight or simply have developed very loose skin as they have aged.
It’s seen more in “sun-worshippers.”
The incision is hidden inside the groin crease.
In case of extreme laxity, the scar would have to reach around from the groin into the crease of the gluteus.
The C-lift encompasses the Miami Thong Lift, the Butterfly Lift, posterior Leg Lift, to tighten up the entire rear region. The scar is in the form of a C-shape that creates a further lift in the upper/outer part of the buttocks. Patients who have excess skin or fat around the entire buttock area may be ideal candidates for the C-Lift.
Ideal Candidates for a Brazilian Butt Lift:
The ideal candidate for fat transfers need to be in good health, have realistic goals about the procedure, and have the pounds to spare in order to produce a good, long-lasting result. Thinner patients may not have enough fat to transfer, and therefore are less likely to be good candidates for Brazilian Butt Lift surgery. Patients that are very thin may be asked to gain weight before the procedure in order to get the best results possible.
Patients should not smoke a month prior to surgery. Smoking increases the risk of complications and decreases the take of the injected fat. Take this as a great time to quit! Patients should avoid taking aspirin or any other blood thinners and stop all supplements which can thin the blood such as ginko biloba, vitamin E and fish oils. There are no problems with the anti-inflammatory curcumin or the great general health supplements resveratrol and acetyl-l-carnitine.
How long does Brazilian Butt lift Results last?
After a successful Brazilian Butt lift, the fat that remains will (for the most part) stay there for the rest of your life. Like the rest of the tissue in your body this fat will grow and age with you. It is important to follow a healthy lifestyle. Exercise will help the buttocks maintain shape and size. Esthetically pleasing buttocks include some lean body mass which is helped with a good muscle and fitness program and bcaa bodybuilding powder supplementation.
Risks and Possible Complications:
Every surgery comes with risks and complications. Although this procedure has a good reputation, patients must be aware that there are possible risks. Some more common that “disasterous” others include hematoma, discomfort, excessive blood loss, asymmetry, and infections.
A recurrence of droopiness is possible, especially in overweight patients or those with an extreme excess of skin or total lack of fitness. Asymmetry, in which one side of the buttocks looks a bit different than the other side, is also possible. However, this result is most likely in patients with significant asymmetry prior to surgery. A second procedure can usually achieve the right balance.
Brazilian Butt Lift Cost:
As the number of areas from which fat will be removed and transferred varies for every patient, Brazilian Butt Lift surgery costs also vary. The prices range from $5000.00 to $15,000.00. Yep-half of a car!!
